SAC Digital Library

Library is a treasure – a house of knowledge. A well- equipped efficiently functioning library is imperative to each centre of learning. The college library has ample space and has a good collection of books, periodicals and journals on all relevant subjects.

St Antony’s College library started in 2013 at that time only 1185 books were available there, gradually our library became developed and now our library is computerised with 7542 books 10 journals 17 magazines and 12 newspapers. The library has been modernised with IT aided learning and accessibility. Books are bar-coded and the issue & return of books are computerised.

Our library is computerised with an E-cataloging system with the installation of the software KOHA, which help students & teachers to locate books easily. The staff & students have unlimited access to a wealth of information found in resources like books, magazines, journals, statistics and encyclopedia. In addition, the library offers spacious seating arrangements and a calm ambiance for learning.

SAC Library is registered for the N-LIST programme, which is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the National Mission on Education through ICT. The authorized users from college can access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher’s website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre. Through the NLIST programme students and faculty of our college can access more than 1,99,500 e-books and more than 6000 e-journals anywhere at any time.

The SAC library performs a vital function in the educational process as it is the key source of information for the academic community.
