INAUGURATION OF THE COMMERCE ASSOCIATION 2021-2022
‘TENT TERRIFIC’
The formal inauguration of the Commerce Association 2021’Tent Terrific’ at St.Antony’s College was done by Mr.Abin.M.Abraham GM&CEO of Meenachil East Urban Co-operative Bank at the college auditorium on December 09,2021 1.30 p.m.
Mr.Tijomon Jacob, Assistant Professor and Head,PG Department of Commerce delivered the welcome address..This was followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignataries thereby officially launching the Commerce Association.During his speech,Mr.Abin.M.Abraham highlighted the importance of banking sector in our economy.Dr.K.V.Thomas Research Guide, MG University &Head,UG Department of Commerce,Marian College Kuttikanam has delivered a keynote address during the remarkable occasion.A small video regarding the activities of Commerce Association was revealed during the program .Mr.Boby.K.Mathew, Principal,St.Antony’s College, Peruvanthanam addressed the gathering.Mr.Ratheesh P.R Head, Department of Computer Application expressed his wishes to the program.Mr.Binu Kurian Head, Department of Co-operation and MrsResnymol E.A Head, Department of Finance and Taxation also joined the gathering.
SoumarShaji, Association Joint Secretary First B.Com Co-operation student spoke about the importance of Commerce Association and about it’sactivities.Carrying the function further,First M.Com students did a presentation for introducing their Self Help Group to all the students.
Mrs.Reshma.R Assistant Professor and Staff Convenor Commerce Association proposed vote of thanks.A cultural program was conducted after the inauguration ceremony.
With the aim of developing Research attitude, Post Garduate Department of Commerce launch Commerce Journal “Insperia” during the month of September. It involves 10 articles of different commerce faculties from different prestigious institutions.
In connection with Co-operative week Celebration, with the leadership of B.com Co-operation Department, a programme was conducted in St. Antony’s college, Peruvanthanam. A rally was also conducted. K F Kurian Kalapurackalparambil, the MeenichilEast Urban Co-operative Bank Chairman, inaugurated the meeting which was conducted soon after the rally. The president of Peruvanthanam Service co-operative bank addressed the gathering. Mr. Boby K Mathew,the College principal incharge, Mr. Binu Kurian, Bcom co-operation HOD , Mr.Ratheesh P.R, Mr. Tijomon Jacob and Mrs. Resnimol A. took great effort to conduct the programme successfully.
Diploma in Financial Accounting
DFA- Diploma in Financial Accounting is a Four-month duration add-on course provided for B.com Students, certificated by Central Government. DFA is one of the best accounting skill fulfilment courses in computers. This course provides you with most of the demanded skills in the computer job sector skills. After completing this course people can make professional ledger and voucher, Data entry work, Data Management, Tally Accounting, and Business Taxation work. The course commenced on the first week of December 2021.
Inauguration of ED Club
St. Antony’s College Peruvanthanam conducted Entrepreneurship development club inauguration on 26-11-2021. The meeting was presided by Mr. Benny Thomas chairman of St. Antony’s College Peruvanthanam. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Regunath K A industrial extension officer Azhutha block panchayath. The interactive session with young entrepreneur also conducted. This session lead by Mr. Renjan K Karakkattil M.D Aroma Coffee Kumily. This session was very useful for students.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
We are providing ainternship in Tally for B.Com students. The class commenced on 8th Jan 2022. The classes are being taken on Saturdays. The training sections were provided . It is a great opportunity for the students to be certified by Tally Solutions after the completion of the Internship.
TALENT SPOT- WALLMAGAZINE INAUGURATION
A wall magazine is a periodical run on notice board, especially in an educational institution where the students of the institution can post their Articles, Poems, Drawings and other such compositions to share and exhibit for others.
It was a new initiative from the Commerce Department to establish a Wall Magazine “TALENT SPOT”. It is a great way to encourage the students to improve their creativity and also it provides an opportunity to express and share their views, ideas and imaginations through drawings, poems, stories, etc.
The Inaugural ceremony of the Wall Magazine ‘TALENT SPOT’, was held on 6 th January 2022. Mr. Ratheesh P R, HOD, B.Com computer dept. welcomed everyone. Mr. Benny Thomas, Chairman St. Antony’s College Peruvanthanam inaugurated the Wall Magazine and delivered an inspiring message to students for their contributions. There were many creative works such as drawings, poems, stories and so on. Many students participated and their creative talents were fabulous. It was interesting, enjoyable and students actively participated in the programme.
In short the programme helped to express and share skills of the Commerce students. The meeting came to an end as Mrs. SuneeshaMohanan expressed the vote of thanks for everyone who participated in the programme.
