B.Com with Chartered Accountancy (CA) is an academic programme that focuses on finance and tax management strategies. B Com with Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA – India - formerly known as ICWAI), is an academic programme that focuses on Finance and Tax management strategies. The students acquire specialized theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of finance and taxation which equip them to do advanced studies in the allied areas. The CMA programme makes a student to gain expert knowledge of costing, pricing, taxation, and strategic decision-making skills. From St.Antony’s College Peruvanthanam, students can pursue the CMA (India) programme up to the Intermediate Group II level along with their B.Com programme.
The CMA course is conducted by Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India, the professional body in India, specializing in Cost and Management Accountancy. A Cost Accountant is a person who performs the services involving verification and preparation of cost accounting and related statements. Any student who has completed plus two in any stream (including Science, Mathematics, and Commerce) with a minimum of 60 percentage marks is eligible to register for the CMA course. Students joining B Com programme at Marian College can do CMA along with regular B Com
CMA exams are held twice in a year in the months of June and December. Students desirous to appear for June Term Examination should register before 31st January of that year and for December Term Examination should register before 31st July of that year.
